Well the last couple times I have been to Coscto, I have asked at the bakery for any 2.5 to 5 gallon food grade buckets that they have finished using. They either didn’t have any or the bakery was closed when I was there. I was also advised that they normally don’t have the five gallon buckets because the frosting they get comes in the smaller size. Well today when I asked, he produced two 5 gallon buckets. The reason I am so excited is that 1)they are free, 2)they are food grade, meaning I can store food in them should I so desire, and 3)there are so many uses for five gallon buckets. I had heard that you could get them for free or cheaply at bakeries in supermarkets, but this was my first score. I will wash them out soon and decide what to do with them. I am thinking of getting some gamma seal lids to make them air tight storage. I will let you know what their end use becomes.
